Support Us

The mandate of the Cascapedia River Museum is to collect, preserve, educate, and nurture the understanding and appreciation of the Grand Cascapedia’s cultural and historical heritage. This museum will be a lasting tribute to our community and the anglers who share the Atlantic Salmon fishing experience on this world famous river. We have the opportunity to tell a fascinating story, but we cannot do it alone. We need the interest and support of many people to ensure that we can continue to maintain existing programs and develop new initiatives. Your support will make this possible. Take a moment to reflect on our proud past and the need to safeguard its future. Join us in our efforts to build a cultural institution of which we can be proud.

The Cascapedia River Museum looks forward to many exciting possibilities and challenges in the future including exhibition development, collections management, and information exchanges with other museums. We intend to increase our efforts in the research and education as well.

We are very proud of what we have accomplished, but know there is still much more to be done. Our mandate, “to collect, preserve, and educate” reinforces our appreciation of the magnificence of the river and its history, and emphasizes the need to continue this work. We know there is still much to be done to document and bring our history to life. With the continued support, encouragement, and dedication of all those who have an interest in the river and this project, we will succeed in our endeavours.

The Cascapedia River Museum is a Canadian, non-profit, registered charity and is associated with the Friends of the Cascapedia Inc, in New York, N.Y., also a non-profit exempt organization recognized by the American Internal Revenue Services (IRS) as a 501(c) (3). Donations to the museum, consequently, are tax deductible in both countries.

To assist in the long term future of the Cascapedia River Museum, the Board of Directors has established the Cascapedia River Museum Trust Fund which is administered by the Fondation Communautaire Gaspesie-Les Isles, a member of the Community Foundations of Canada. Revenues from this investment will help finance the operational costs of the museum and help guarantee its long term future.

You have a chance to make a real difference in the preservation of our heritage. The museum will be a lasting tribute to our community and the anglers who shared the Atlantic salmon fishing experience on this world famous river. If you would like your name displayed on the outside of the museum, a salmon will commemorate your generous donation according to the following scale:
